How to have more clarity

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Living in the past doesn’t bring clarity because using the past memories to weight current situation will always induce an emotional cloud of those past emotions that will color your evaluation.

Living in the future in the hope of a hypothetical event that will change you doesn’t help either first you are throwing away your personal power and you create unnecessary expectation that certainly turn into insecurity.

You create clarity in the here and now; in the unfolding moment. If you want clarity about a situation quiet your mind , you can do 10 minutes of alternate nostril breathing.
Look at the situation If it was a movie , see yourself acting in it. If for one reason or another you are suddenly filled with so called “negative” emotions, tell yourself that you accept them, tell yourself that you accept the totality of yourself. This will help to discharge these emotions, if necessary continues the deep breathing while you are observing the situation that you want clarity for.

Once you feel quiet ask yourself what you are learning from this situation. Ask yourself what is the deepest truth concerning the situation.

Fear and genetic

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

You might investigate about the root of some fears you might have with not much luck. Some fears aren’t linked to the belief system or your mind they come from genetic. So it is good to study a bit about this.
They are certainly better stuy and article than the one below just do your homework.

The Genetics of Fear

Fear - which in humans ranges from generalized anxiety to specific phobias - is an important biological adaptation, and a common behavior in all mammals. Fear is an emotion, an unspoken memory, stored in special parts of the brain. It provokes individuals to react rapidly, almost instinctively, in the face of perceived danger.

Fear can be present in greater or lesser degrees in different individuals. When a tendency to fear is present in excess, its consequences are not always helpful. As many as one-fourth of all Americans will suffer from potentially debilitating anxiety, panic disorders, animal phobias and post-traumatic stress reactions at least once in their lives. These disorders cause not only mental anguish but a variety of real physical symptoms including localized pain. As with other forms of behavior, we would like to know to what extent fear is learned from environmental experience, and to what extent it is influenced by our genetic makeup.

The study of fear in animals such as mice has shown that fear can be selectively bred into succeeding generations, suggesting a strong genetic component. Randomly selected mice subjected to an “open-field test” - a brightly lit, open box with no hiding places - exhibit a range of different responses. Some mice cower motionless near one wall, defecating and urinating repeatedly, while others roam about, sniffing and exploring without concern. Most mice are somewhere between these two extremes. If fearful mice are bred with one another repeatedly over a dozen or so generations, it is possible to develop lines of mice in which all members are highly anxious and fearful in a variety of different tests. But they do not learn this from one another or from their mothers. A newborn mouse from a fearful line, reared by a fearless mother together with fearless siblings, will still be fearful as an adult.

Being in the Matrix: Who told you that your personality exist ?

Monday, October 27th, 2008

“First you have to realize you are in a jail, before you can get out it.” (Ram Dass)

The vast majority of us live in a false reality. A mass consciousness is the combination of the thought patterns of people living in a particular area. Most people do take their ideas, beliefs and inspirations from the mass consciousness. However, the ideas in the mass consciousness are unproductive, limiting and anchored in a false reality.
Why the mass consciousness is anchored in a false reality ? (more…)

Stop recycling yesterday!

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Someone told me “well, Louis, my days are boring, it is always the same”. Yes, I understand there is a certain safety in recycling yesterday experiences. First you do not have to face your own issues and inner turmoil , this alone will convince many of living over again and again with yesterday. Yesterday is a safe known territory. If you find the courage to face your inner turmoil then each day will be new with unknowns. Who is afraid of the unknown ? Well many people. You know when you go to sleep you do not know what will be made tomorrow yet you go to sleep without much terror.

In fact , the fear of the unknown is really a lack of self-confidence in one ability to face challenges. There is little growth in maintaining yesterday experiences in today.
The greatest barrier of human growth is fear. Let say that for one reason or another you are terrorized to re-produce mistakes you made in the past this cause you to avoid any type of risk and challenges, you play it safe.

If you are in that situation in one or several areas of your life, you can choose to accept your condition for what it is, explore your belief system and understand the nature of your condition. You have to realize that challenges and risks are not to be feared , you are not prisoner of your past or some malicious force. If you take the time to observe the unfolding of your day without judgement but just for learning from the observation you will not say your days are the same, everyday will be different, the sameness of the day come from of clothing what you perceive with your yesterday judgement.
As I said if no judgement is placed you allow yourself to perceive with new unbiased eyes. When you wake up in the morning tell yourself that you accept yourself and all the experiences you will encounter. Take a new street, eat a new food, watch a different program, try something new and have fun.

How to recover from a failed relationship

Friday, September 26th, 2008

“… Many of you go to sleep thinking about yesterday, today and tomorrow. Going through everything in minute detail, what did I do today and all of this? Every moment that you are in existence is gone in the blink of an eye. So what does ten minutes ago have to do with the present ?”
DATRE

I want to talk about ways individuals could use to recover from a failed relationship. Often when a relationship end in bad term, we might feel some guilt, betrayal, resentment, anger, disappointment and even loss of self confidence. Some people told me after there failed relationship that they will never fall in love again because love is too painful.

If a relationship has ended on a bad term chance is that the relationship still continue on a mental level. Repeating episodes of the failed relationship in the mind generates a lot of thoughts , thoughts have a magnetic quality to them, they tend to attract-like thoughts. That’s why replaying episodes of a failed relationship can continue long long time many years in some case. The cause of conflict that ended a relationship are usually not to be found in the relationship itself but in the belief system of the partners.

If someone could write down all the things they sincerely believe deep down in the bottom of their heart, they will probably lay down the cause of the conflict. One might have the following beliefs : Men cannot be trusted, Love never last long, I’m not worthy a great relationship….These beliefs might have many roots such as parents or any influential figure from early childhood. These beliefs that make up the self-image are likely to show up sooner or later in a relationship, ideally they have to be taken for what they really are an opportunity to grow. (more…)
