<p>The idea is very simple, you create a list of affirmations , you record them and you use that recording on your mp3 player or CD player to listen during the night while you sleep.</p>
<p>You choose something that you would like to work anything that can be worked out with self-hypnosis can be worked out with affirmations tapes in fact, it is very beneficial to combine the two approaches for maximum effect.<br />
Let say you are looking for a job and you buy a self-hypnosis recording that contains a script to help you with that, usually the script will contain instruction to focus your mind so you could use all your resource mental and physical to find a new job. But, may be, this is not the biggest hurdle for you, may be, you have a tendency to mess up at job interview .<br />
Or it is like a Dutch guy I knew, he would use hypnosis CDs to be more attractive to women and it worked but the problem is that he was all very shy around women.<br />
So his new found attractiveness didn’t help very much.<br />
This is where sleep recording can be very useful.</p>
<p>At night , you could try this , you first listen to your hypnosis recording and then when you finish, you will still be probably very relaxed ready to fall asleep, you start listening to the affirmations recording in loop.</p>
<p>Some people think that wearing headphone at night in bed is very uncomfortable, it can be true especially some of the cheap model are very uncomfortable even when you don’t sleep. Now, if you listen to a quality hypnosis recording with binaural beats and with some post-suggestion to make you fall asleep when you are done , like the recording from <a href="http://www.deeptrancenow.com?a_aid=nyagera">DeepTranceNow.com </a>then it will not be very much a problem, you will quickly fall asleep if you have quality comfortable headphone.</p>
<p>I tested with the type of models from the pictures, I can sleep well with both model. However, sometime, the earbud type of model get off my hear so I prefer the other bigger model. Choose what feel comfortable to you.</p>

<p>To create your recording write what you want to create on a piece of paper :<br />
e.g ., I want a well paid job as an accountant.<br />
Under the list write  your resistances, what prevent you to get that job ?<br />
It could be  :<br />
<em>I’m too stupid<br />
I’m too old<br />
I’m inexperienced<br />
I’m from the wrong ethnicity<br />
Etc..etc…</em></p>
<p>When you have your list turn that into positive affirmations and use a lot of the “more and more” …because it tends to create less resistance.<br />
Your script could start with :<em><br />
I accept these affirmations more and more and easily each times I listen to them<br />
Everyday I become more and more intelligent and competent in my field of expertise<br />
My age is an asset<br />
Everyday, I become more and more experienced<br />
Everyday, I m more and more accepted as I’m everywhere I go<br />

<p>Create a dozen of positive affirmations to work out your resistance. Another way to know your resistance, is to tell yourself a positive affirmation about something you want to create and wait for its tail-ender to pop up in your mind.<br />
e.g.,<strong> I’m rich beyond my wildest dream &#8212; but, I cant even pay my bills.</strong><br />
In this case what is reinforced is the tail-ender “<strong>I can’t pay my bills</strong>” while the first part will go ignored.<br />
In this case, if you create a tape for wealth then the first affirmation will be “Everyday, it is easier and easier to pay my bills”<br />
It doesn’t negate that you cant pay your bills, it merely acknowledge that fact and mobilise your mental and psychic resource to pay them  more easily.</p>
<p>You can create affirmations with one form, two or three forms.<br />
Me, YOUR NAME, I’m more X everyday …<br />
You, YOUR NAME , You are more X …</p>
<p>Also it is not necessary to use the word “more” for all your affirmations,  use this with the one you think have a lot of resistance.</p>
<p>Some people have better success when they exaggerate the affirmation  or when the affirmation provoke them. You could try that as well but only if you had success with such types of affirmations in the past.</p>
<p>To record your affirmations, you could use the free program Audacity available on Mac, PC and Linux.</p>

Scientists tested whether &#8220;incubating&#8221; a problem allowed a flash of insight, and found it did, especially when people entered a phase of sleep known as REM.</p>
<p>Volunteers who had entered REM or rapid eye movement sleep &#8211; when most dreams occur &#8211; were then better able to solve a new problem with lateral thinking.</p>
<p>Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences has published the US work. In the morning of the test day, 77 volunteers were given a series of creative problems to solve and were told to mull over the problem until the afternoon either by resting but staying awake or by taking a nap monitored by the scientists. Compared with quiet rest and non-REM sleep, REM sleep increased the chances of success on the problem-solving task.</p>
<p>The study at the University of California San Diego showed that the volunteers who entered REM during sleep improved their creative problem solving ability by almost 40%.<span id="more-1465"></span></p>
<p>The findings suggest it is not merely sleep itself, or the passage of time, that is important for the problem solving, but the quality of sleep.</p>
<p>Lead researcher Professor Sara Mednick said: &#8220;We found that, for creative problems you&#8217;ve already been working on, the passage of time is enough to find solutions.</p>
<p>&#8220;However for new problems, only REM sleep enhances creativity.&#8221;</p>
<p>The researchers believe REM sleep allows the brain to form new nerve connections without the interference of other thought pathways that occur when we are awake or in non-dream-state sleep. </p>

<p>Also the other day, I wrote about a nap and I had a very vivid dream, it was so vivid that when I woke up I was disoriented, I wondered where I was, I wondered where is the guy I was talking to in the dream, I was receiving some instruction&#8230; then I realized I was in my apartment not in the dream location.</p>
<p>Now, I found out what this is all about, I guess it demands some background information to understand but here it is, during the sleep we connect with more of the self that we really are within our psyche we evaluate probabilities and possibilities to create our experiences in waking life. This incident I had is just that I was able to quickly shift from my “dream” self to my waking self and retain the memory of it.<br />

”. He wrote about this aswell:</p>
<p>My first OBE, with the split-consciousness, showed me that parts of the psyche can be very active during sleep. But I never considered myself an astral social worker by night. That is, until the morning of Tuesday, September 1, 1981, when I had my 46th OBE.<br />
Sometime after midnight, I unexpectedly woke up out of my body. When I awoke, I was standing next to my bed, in the middle of my bedroom. I was a bit surprised, but before I could gather my wits about me, I was &#8220;put under&#8221; by my subconscious. It felt as if I were knocked out by a professional anesthesiologist.<br />
A while later, I woke up out of my body a second time. Again, I was standing in the middle of my<br />
bedroom. This experience was also cut short when I was &#8220;put under&#8221; by my subconscious.<br />
It seemed an hour or so passed. Then, just like my first OBE, I slowly started to become more conscious and I was aware of having multiple consciousness. My awareness increased until I was fully conscious, but this time my conscious self was an observer. I was allowed to watch with astral vision, but I wasn&#8217;t in control. Another part of me was running the show, doing some very serious work, and knew all the tools of the trade. What I saw was astounding.<span id="more-732"></span><br />
I was gliding slowly up from below, until I saw what looked like a human brain. I could sense the body it belonged to. Somehow, I knew it was my own body. The brain looked like about one hundred small<br />
spheres of light, grouped in the shape of a human brain. Each sphere had a different brightness. I noticed that four particular spheres were shining brighter than the rest, and I knew they had been cut off from the other spheres. Using my mind tools, I worked for about 10 minutes adjusting neural pathways, &#8220;rewiring,&#8221; and manipulating energy. Then I recharged the four spheres with energy. Next, I programmed the brain so that it would use different neurological connections and make automatic adjustments! I was a psychic healer in my sleep!</p>
<p>Satisfied with my work, I left. I approached a second brain and followed the same process. I rewired,<br />
transferred energy, then programmed the brain to aid in the healing process. After I was finished with the second brain, I worked on a third and then a fourth.<br />
The fifth brain was a much more difficult case. As I approached the brain, I could tell that it belonged to a forty- year-old woman with dark hair. Like the others, she had some physical problem and I sensed many damaged parts of her body.</p>
<p>I went through the same sort of procedure. I looked at the brain and saw many messed up spheres. I<br />
sensed that she had stopped using certain parts of her brain until she had lost the use of these spheres. I pulled myself very close to those spheres as if I were looking through a magnifying glass, and began to work. I worked for about an hour on her, &#8220;rewiring&#8221; and opening pathways. I transferred a lot of energy to her. My energy spread throughout her body, healing as much damage as possible. Then I spent a long time programming her brain to heal her body. As I left, her body and brain were both busy with the healing process.</p>
<p>As I approached a sixth brain, the observing part of my psyche began to gain more control. As this happened, I was poured like a liquid into my body. As I came to, I was in complete awe. I looked at my clock and saw it was 2:00am. I went over the experience several times in my mind so I would not forget. Then I drifted off toward sleep.<br />
At once, I saw another brain. Then my subconscious realized that &#8220;I&#8221; was consciously tagging along again. It quickly went back to my body and I woke up again. I dozed off again and this time I was out cold.<br />
My subconscious didn&#8217;t take me along this time. The next memory I have is of dreaming sometime later in the night.<br />
This OBE taught me many things. It taught me that sleep is not &#8220;idle&#8221; or &#8220;wasted&#8221; time. It taught me the importance of helping people, and the importance of work. It was a humbling experience; It gave me a great reverence toward my higher self.<br />

<p>An old method of treatment for epilepsy and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder shows promise as a treatment for insomnia. In instrumental sensorimotor rhythm conditioning (ISC), patients shape their brain activity by watching a feedback screen and adjusting their behavior accordingly. To encourage sleep, participants in the study used physiological relaxation and positive thinking to mold their brainwaves into a certain shape.<span id="more-665"></span></p>
<p>Study participants were able to fall asleep faster and perform better mentally after two weeks of the treatment. Findings support the theory that increasing relaxation and decreasing muscle tension leads to less movement during sleep and therefore a boost sleep quality and learning ability.</p>
<p>Researchers say the next step is to look at the effects of ISC on different mental tasks and examine its potential as a long-term treatment for insomnia.</p>
<p>More than one third of American adults experience occasional insomnia and more than one in ten suffer from chronic insomnia, according to the American Insomnia Association.</p>

<p><!--adsense#xpansion120x240-->Almost all seekers of the truth come at some point with the idea that through lucid dreaming they can learn something more, from my experience lucid dreaming changed my overview about the reality.<br />
In certain occasion I had dreams and lucid dreams stronger and more real than my waking life, for the last few years I never really worked to have lucid dreams, they just happened as a result of my intense work on meditation, Kundalini and energy work.<br />
If you never had a lucid dream and you wish to have you can succeed very quickly within 30-40 days.</p>
<p>First the possibility to have a lucid dream must be available in your belief system otherwise you are wasting your time, if you have blocks remove them with EFT.<span id="more-643"></span></p>
<p>-	Each morning write your dreams with as much details as you can, give a title to your dreams and try to identify the general theme.</p>
<p>-	Study the symbols in your dreams, on the long run, you will develop an useful dictionary of your own dream symbols, avoid at any cost books about dream symbols they are worthless, dream symbols are individual.</p>
<p>-	When you have a lot of dreams, check out for premonitory content, on November 26, 2004 I dreamt that I was on the roof on a hotel on some island then from the sea I saw a tidal wave approaching the coast when the tidal wave hit the coast it took everything on his way, the actual event happened on December 26, 2004. I also had this time a lucid dream where I visited the town and the home I’m currently living in fact, I posted this when it happened a few months ago. Premonitory dreams are a lot of fun.</p>
<p>-	Dreams buddies – studies them and pay attention to them in the long run, it might pay. However in the short terms it might have little sense.</p>
<p>-	Dream wisdom – start that when you are well trained in dream recall, write a question you want to the answer and write on a card – Tonight I will dream about X (X being your question-answer ) and I will perfectly remember it when I wake up or you can suggest that you will wake up immediately after you have the answer either case have a notepad around, put the card under your pillow.</p>
<p>Getting consciousness inside a dream – many people got great result with the Carlos Castenada method. So here it is:</p>
<p>Think about finding your hands many times during your waking hours as a way of<br />
inducing that act during your dreams.<br />
Tell yourself  <em>“I&#8217;m going to look down while I dreaming tonight and see my hands in my dreams.”</em><br />
Do it as many times as you can during the day, Robert Bruce in his excellent book Astral Dynamics wrote sound advices about that method.<br />
Do a few minutes of energy work (tai chi) before going to bed and may be some progressive muscles relaxation, it does help greatly to promote the state of lucid dreaming.<br />
Stephen Laberge the researcher about lucid dreams has a technique he calls spinning, it helps to prolong the lucid dream. </p>
<p><strong>Spinning ·</strong> When in a lucid dream and the dream began to fade, while you still felt the dream body, spin around like a top, as rapidly as possible. Beginning in a vertical or standing position, turn around on a point with your arms outstretched. </p>

I want to talk about my progress, I’m two weeks in my program I m pushing myself to use more of my potential and I’m seeing results from now on my experience is no longer ordinary I have out of ordinary or extraordinary experiences.<br />
This is going to be a more mystical blog I guess or something along this line. I also think that I will have to use a glossary on this blog, I found a nice plug-in I can add to have a glossary because I’m going to use a lot of jargon so I will put the definitions in the glossary page instead of explaining the terms again and again.<span id="more-335"></span></p>
<p>As always the week was short and rich in lessons, skills grew equally during the week in a sense I can say I m evolving pretty fast. I started to work with Hieu Doan’s <a href="http://lifemasteryonline.com/key/">Meditation Mastery Activations CD</a> as a result it seems that it activated something in me, I can hold more subtle energies, my energy work is completely changed, not only I can feel more of my energy system but I can also feel very well outside energy fields and systems, for instance I intended the solar light to fill my body and it was incredible I could feel an energy running into my system , it was incredible  prior to that when I did this thing I just had the perception of a change in my energy field but nothing so tangible.</p>
<p>When I intend ‘<em>My soul is in my heart</em>’ I directly feel something strong in my heart chakra , sending energy to someone feel also a lot more real and tangible.<br />
I had also brief burst of PUL (Pure Unconditional Love), last night I had spontaneous OOBE , it was an unpleasant one so I did my best to interrupt it. I fell asleep soon after then I had a dream in a dream location I visited before, again, in that location I saw construction a lot more advanced than any building we have now and they radiate a pleasant energy.</p>
<p>Imagine for a second that the people of this planet start to radiate out love from their heart chakra or simply from their whole beingness soon instead of using intellectual intelligence and thinking process, they will use heart intelligence (or direct knowingness) because they have direct knowingness, they don’t have a use for thinking process they use something better they use concept. A concept is something whole and complete , not a chunk trapped into a thought in a string of thinking.<br />
Now, this humanity with such skill and evolution they could build many things different from what we have now.  This is a world like that I was visiting in that dream. However, it is impossible to describe it to you , just allow your imagination to envision a world like this.</p>
<p>I’m happy with my progress, I will not quit or slack off, I shall have interesting progress again this coming week.<br />

So I had a nap today and during that time my body was completely paralysed I tried to wake up but I felt strong pressure on me, it was impossible to do anything, I also heard very strong noise I thought it was the leaves from that tree I can see from my bedroom.<br />
I was also able to feel strongly my energy body, so I understood what was happening .</p>
<p>I tried a shift of consciousness to explore around, what I call shift of consciousness and sometime projection of consciousness is referred as Out Of Body Experience in traditional literature however this reasoning is based on the misunderstanding that space and time exist when they really don’t, I will not go into quantum mathematics here, I have a found a simple explanation from the book Cosmic Journeys that I can quote:</p>
<p>When there is a shift from the physical realm into the more etheric levels of existence, the vibrations change within the soul-self, and begin to function on the highest level of existence previously experienced by that soul.<span id="more-287"></span><br />
Souls who have lived freely in the flow of their own existence are not hindered by emotional or mental thought-forms that can confine or hold them down in the more dense earth-level vibrations.<br />
The heavy earth vibrations are often experienced as great darkness and isolation, mixed with various negative emotions – which can include pain, hatred, fear and selfishness.</p>
<p>The change  in vibration gives the soul the feeling of movement. However, in the timeless dimension there is no time or space; thus, there is no actual movement, as in the time level.<br />
When an individual soul has the experience of going out of the body, it is felt as movement through space .</p>
<p>But a true out of body experience is not movement through space; it is change in the vibration from the denser physical self to the higher vibratory levels of the etheric self. </p>
<p>So to go back to my experience today I tried to explore around using a technique called The Rope from Robert Bruce’s book – Astral Dynamics , It didn’t work I had the impression to shrink in size it was weird, according to Robert Bruce it is almost impossible to shift consciousness for exploration from the <a href="http://www.louisyagera.com/2006/06/08/sleep-paralysis/">sleep/waking paralysis</a> state.</p>
<p>I  was forced to give up, I fell asleep and I had a vivid dream I don’t know if this dream has any meaning, I will find out that later, the funny thing is that when I woke up it was total silence in my bedroom it was evident that hearing the leaves from the tree is impossible even if you open the window you will not hear anything because there is no wind.</p>
<p>I will observe if this trend continue and find out if the dream I had was meaningful to me.</p>

I try to be specific whenever I can but you should understand that for me it is more a research project rather than a steady process, I go one way then another way, I experiment with various techniques, I try to improve, tweak , modify and boost.<br />
During the last 3 months I think I walked on a not so fruitful way so I have to go back to the techniques I used in April-May.</p>
<p>I remember last year I wanted to be able to go in <a href="http://www.psychic101.com/forum/index.php/topic,36.0.html">Focus 10</a> with the <a href="http://www.louisyagera.com/2006/06/18/gateway-experience-early-observation-about-focus-10/">Gateway Experience</a> Audio-course, it took me 2 months to achieve Focus 10 (the state of mind awake and body asleep), in case you are not familiar with the Gateway Experience it is a course to learn to explore area of consciousness such as:</p>
<p><strong>Focus 10:</strong> Mind awake and alert / body asleep. The first step in separation of human mind-consciousness from physical matter reality.<br />
<strong><br />
Focus 12:  </strong>A state of expanded awareness </p>
<p><strong>Focus 15 :</strong>A state where time is not perceived </p>
<p><strong>Focus 21 :</strong> Equivalent to the deep delta  state (this is when we are deep asleep) at the difference that the mind is fully awake.<span id="more-279"></span></p>
<p>In order to achieve Focus 10, I had to do two sessions per day of Gateway Experience Wave 1 (the first CD set)<br />
One in the morning and one at night before I went to sleep, after, two months of that regime I was able to go in Focus 10 , vegan diet seems also to help to promote good condition for that state to appear.</p>
<p>Other students confirmed me that two sessions a day is the way to go with some energy wok (tai chi) in the middle it can’t fail. The track for me particularly good to reach Focus 10 were Advanced Focus 10 and <a href="http://www.louisyagera.com/2006/06/27/exploration-sleep/">Exploration Sleep</a>, however, I know someone who prefer to use the track called ‘Introduction to Focus 10’ to reach that state. Introduction to Focus 10 is the first lesson in the CD set Wave 1 after the presentation.</p>
<p>Another thing I wanted to master last year was the Love Meditation or sending out love as explained in Klaus Joehle book <a href="http://www.livingonlove.com/">Living on Love: The messenger</a>.</p>
<p>I had to change my daily routines I couldn’t do two sessions of the Gateway Experience anymore. I wasn’t particularly good at sending out love so I decided to take the bull by the horns, I gave the best of me to master this I did 4 hours per day from August 2006 to November 2006.<br />
I had no time for other type of meditation, when time I allowed it I did some energy work (tai chi).</p>
<p>In November 2006 I reached great efficiency with that love meditation, I could focus on a pain in my body , send love energy to it from my heart chakra, and feel the pain fade away. I had also <a href="http://www.louisyagera.com/2006/11/20/a-dream-more-real-than-reality-itself/">fantastic dreams</a> at that time. However, my ego rebelled and I slowed down, changed the structure  of my program and never went back to that high level however I stayed at relatively high level compared to other people doing that kind of stuff. It was high enough to affect the people I met at that time.</p>
<p>I kept experimenting with new techniques and way of doing my stuff by April 2007 , I find a new framework that gave me also great experiences.</p>
<p>That new framework heavily rely on energy work and <a href="http://www.louisyagera.com/2007/06/19/kundalini-awakening-and-love-meditation/">kundalini</a> in that framework when I do the love meditation I raise energy into my brain. This way of doing things brought me some surprise for instance, I find out that using affirmation in that state was extremely effective , I was also able to reach a state associated to Focus 10 called the <a href="http://www.louisyagera.com/2007/05/29/the-3d-blackness/">3D blackness.</a><br />
The top experience was the fact that instead of feeling an emotion I could be it or in another words feel the emotion from all area of my beingness.</p>
<p>That was in May 2007 since then I changed again the structure of doing things and I lost many or most of the things I gained previously like the guidance I received in my dreams at that time.</p>
<p>Starting today I went back to a routine similar to the one I had in April-May I also decided that instead of changing the structure of the program when I reach a high point, I will stick to it and transcend that high point and explore what is beyond it.</p>
<p>So my new program is something like:</p>
<p>Energy Work ( 40 minutes with 5 minutes of chi breathing )<br />
Chi/pranic breathing (10 minutes)<br />
Love Meditation with <a href="http://www.louisyagera.com/2007/06/19/kundalini-awakening-and-love-meditation/">Kundalini</a> raising (Ying chi raising) ( 1 hour)<br />
Gateway Experience one session with Sleep Exploration (35 minutes)<br />
Love Meditation with Kundalini raising (1  hour)</p>
<p>I will probably add two more exercises to that program I will see how I can adjust I will certainly have interesting stories to tell in the coming months.</p>
