I haven’t posted anything for a long time. If you worried about what was going on. I’m and I was fine, I just needed a period alone away from communicating with people for awhile.

After day 20 – I decided to end the fast and to end the fast properly I went to the doctor early in the morning that day. I had a series of medical tests. I didn’t lack anything in my body all the tests were good.
The doctor gave me instruction to slowly get out of the fast.
On day 21 and the following days, I had to drink isotonic and fruit juices.

I also came out with a lot of insights , new ideas and concepts that I had to digest and integrate.
I had so many of them. I shared some of them with Frederick Dodson and he suggested that I write an e-book with these insights. I started the project but I’m unsure how relevant it is to the regular readers of this blog. I will decide if I make it available to the public at a later time.

In my insights, I found out the difference between high achievers and super high achievers. I studied a couple of people that embodies these values and attitudes. It was something that always fascinated me and I think everyone can learn and advance by modeling on super high achievers (Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Tiger Woods, etc….).

I also had to decide what I want for my future. After this period of fast, new opportunities and new potentials were uncovered. Therefore, I have to make new decisions as I’m a new person.

I’m happy to blog again, I have some ideas for a few guided meditations that I will produce soon.
All in all, I did great during that fasting period. I got a lot from the fasting and the release.
I still do a lot of release around three hours per day. When I was fasting I was doing about 11-12 hours of release per day. Read the past few posts if you forgot or do not know what release is.

And yes. I lost 13 Kg (32 Lbs) in 20 days.

Is there a brain waves pattern associated with heightened state of concentration? Yes, it is the gamma state (40 Hz to 70 Hz). Only five years ago, Binaural Beats CD’s with gamma brain waves were so rare. Then Dr. Jeffrey Thompson did his Gamma CD, and later many other people launched their own Gamma CD . Immrama with the Focus CD, Brainsync also with a CD called Focus.

I’m currently listening to Gammadrone from J.S Epperson, it is a good gamma brain wave CD. You can use gamma brain waves to help to concentrate when you study or do some computer work like blogging this post! If you are into accelerated learning such as PhotoReading, you could use certain yogic breathing that will cause you to produce Alpha brain waves and use the CD to also produce Gamma brain wave with these mixed brain waves patterns also called “Awakened Mind” (See Anna Wise book) , Photoreading and even remote healing becomes very easy.

You can get Gammadrone for as low as $1 dollar on Mellowcore.

In this video, you can listen to the Quantum Edit version. Enjoy!

According to a BBC story Volunteers who slept for 90 minutes during the day did better at cognitive tests than those who were kept awake. The results were presented at a conference in California. A UK-based expert said it was hard to separate the pure “memory boosting” effects of sleep from those of simply being less tired.

he wealth of study into the science of sleep in recent years has so far failed to come up with conclusive evidence as to the value of a quick “siesta” during the day. The latest study, from the University of California at Berkeley, suggests that the brain may need sleep to process short-term memories, creating “space” for new facts to be learned.

In their experiment, 39 healthy adults were given a hard learning task in the morning – with broadly similar results, before half of them were sent for their siesta. When the tests were repeated, the nappers outperformed those who had carried on without sleep.

Checks on brain electrical activity suggested that this process might be happening in a sleep phase between deep sleep, and dreaming sleep, called stage 2 non-rapid eye movement sleep, when fact-based memories are moved from “temporary storage” in the brain’s hippocampus to another area called the pre-frontal cortex.

Brain ‘inbox’

Dr Matthew Walker, who led the study, reported at the AAAS conference in San Diego, said: “Sleep not only rights the wrong of prolonged wakefulness, but, at a neurocognitive level, it moves you beyond where you were before you took a nap.

They are a lot of funny researches out there. I like this one about how brain scan reveals how people rate attractiveness and decide its value.

WEDNESDAY, Feb. 17 (HealthDay News) — New brain-scan research is providing insight into how you decide what things are worth.

Researchers at Duke University Medical Center found that specific areas of the brain were activated in male college students as they evaluated female faces. The findings, they report, suggest that the brains were doing two things: figuring out the quality of the experience of viewing the faces and determining what they would trade to see a particular face again.

In the experiment, researchers scanned the brains of the heterosexual male subjects using fMRI technology as they looked at female faces and images of money. Later, the participants were asked if they’d pay more or less money to look at faces that were more or less attractive.

One area of the brain became active as the men figured out how much the faces were worth. Researchers could even predict how much the men would spend to see a more attractive face at a later time.

“One part of the frontal cortex of our participants’ brains increased in activation to more attractive faces, as if it computed those faces’ hedonic — quality of the experience — value,” Scott Huettel, senior author of the new study and director of Duke’s Center for Neuroeconomic Studies, said in a news release from the university. “A nearby brain region’s activation also predicted those faces’ economic value — specifically, how much money that person would be willing to trade to see another face of similar attractiveness.”

“People often respond to images in a very idiosyncratic fashion,” Huettel said. “While we can’t use neuroscience to identify the best images for every person’s brain, we could identify types of images that tend to modulate the right sorts of value signals — those that predict future purchases for a market segment.”

The work was published online Feb. 16 in the Journal of Neuroscience.

(US NEWS)….Most experts now advocate a “use-it-or-lose-it” approach to mental functioning.

“We found a number of years ago that people who engaged in cognitive activities had better functioning and perspective than those who did not,” said Dr. Richard Lipton, a professor of neurology and epidemiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and director of the Einstein Aging Study. “Our study is often referenced as the crossword-puzzle study — that doing puzzles, writing for pleasure, playing chess and engaging in a broader array of cognitive activities seem to protect against age-related decline in cognitive function and also dementia.”

The new study takes the use-it-or-lose-it concept into the 21st century.

For the research, 24 neurologically normal adults, aged 55 to 78, were asked to surf the Internet while hooked up to an MRI machine. Before the study began, half the participants had used the Internet daily, and the other half had little experience with it.

After an initial MRI scan, the participants were instructed to do Internet searches for an hour on each of seven days in the next two weeks. They then returned to the clinic for more brain scans.

“At baseline, those with prior Internet experience showed a much greater extent of brain activation,” Small said.

After at-home practice, however, those who had just been introduced to the Internet were catching up to those who were old hands, the study found.

“This is a demonstration that, over a relatively short period of time, patterns of brain activation while engaging in cognitive activities change,”
He found out that notably by studying Leonardo Da Vinci who was himself a juggler. A bit late scientists today are discovering that juggling “enhance” the brain. So new ?

(BBC)In the journal, Nature Neuroscience, the scientists say they saw a 5% increase in white matter – the cabling network of the brain.
The people who took part in the study were trained for six weeks and had brain scans before and after. Long term it could aid treatments for diseases like multiple sclerosis.

Diffusion MRI

The team from Oxford’s Department of Clinical Neurology used a diffusion MRI which is able to measure the movement of water molecules in the tissues of the brain.

(BBC) People can perceive subliminal messages, particularly if the message is negative, according to a UK study.

In three experiments at University College London, participants were briefly shown masked words and asked to classify them as emotional or neutral.

The study, published in the journal Emotion, says being able to react to tiny cues helps us to avoid danger and may have useful marketing uses.

But critics say there is no evidence this would work outside a laboratory.

Professor Nilli Lavie from University College London showed 50 participants a series of words on a computer screen.

(India Time) The new finding can pave way for treating conditions like chorea, dystonia and Parkinson’s, characterized by either uncontrolled or slowed movements.

“At last we have some direct experimental proof that brain waves influence behavior in humans, in this case how fast a movement is performed,” said Peter Brown of University College London.

“The implication is that it is not just how active brain cells are that is important, but also how they couple their activity into patterns like beta activity,” the expert added.

In the new study, researchers injected a small electrical current into the brain through the scalps of fourteen people while the participants manipulated the position of a spot on a computer screen as quickly as they could with a joystick.
