Hi Louis,

Americans sometimes get a free ride overseas there generally is a bigger gap between the people and the government. Half the U.S. voted for Bush a 2ND time! The generations that preceded this one, esp. during and after WW II, brought, amongst many other advances, a degree of material prosperity never seen. However, it has ended in lethargy and complacency and spoiled mentality. that which our fathers worked hard for came easy for the next generations.

Esp. in America, you vote with you dollar. Corporations have slipped into the pockets of governments to such a degree now it is scary. But, if no one bought the product, they would go bankrupt. It might cause pain (so you have to do without something, maybe even electricity) but it is powerful enough to stop the powers that be.
I think it is precarious to vilify the government as a "them" because we all have a hand in it, however small.
Also, in times of trouble and uncertainty, I find hope because it is easier to bring new things to the world, to create in a void.

Hi John, I understand, there is something I have learned over the time, it is to observe without getting emotionally involved.
From my vantage point, I m just observing and blogging about these events. One person I know in the USA told me that she is going to wealthy next year and that she is preparing to whatever might happen over there, it so also an encourage for the US people to do something about their government which has grown out of control and unbalanced.
But thanks anyway for the comment as I see how I can use this for more constructive commentary as I believe that someone who has the right attitude can walk in a crisis without much trouble.

Dear Louis,

I don't like this post and it doesn't match up with your previous posts which were about having an attitude (mercedes-benz) that nothing will happend. This post is generating fear and thus the focus of some of your readers will go towards fear.
