Being my dreams
ByI recently met a friend and we had a discussion about dreams and goals, it appears that my friend is extremely scared to go at after her dreams when I ask her what she wants to do, she keeps answering me by what she can do now or what her qualification allow her to do, she doesn’t want to say her real dreams out loud she is scared even thinking about them seem to make her feel bad.
However, when I initially met her a couple of months ago, she said that she want to travel around the world with a backpack and that’s it. It seems that she has written off her dream from her mind.
She asked me to help her with the issue but I possibly have the same issue, may be, I’m not honouring my real dreams when I think of the future I think about stuffs I can do within my current qualification I’m not thinking about the real dreams I had when I was kid. When I was kid I designed many comic strips it was my number one passion, I even created a comic strip magazine that was published in the school, teachers applauded my creativity when I left the school they continued my magazine, even when I was in high school I published a music fanzine in my city only available in record shops that was cool….These activities are closer to my real dreams which I certainly left in childhood than working in the Mind/Body development community, this is something I can do .
The same trap happened to Klaus Joehle author of Living on Love: The messenger, wanted to open a mosaic store but found himself pushed into another direction due to the book. Just like my friend I can’t quite see well what my real dreams are, they seem distant and nebulous and certainly out of reach. I will use Gary Craig questions and play with that for a few days.
• “What dreams did you have as a child that you have given up on?”
• “Whom do you wish you could be like?
• “What would you like to do that you haven’t been able to do yet?
• “What would you do/attempt/be if your success were guaranteed?”
Time to go back to unlimited thinking ![]()
