One more reason to give up watching the news…unless you stumble upon randomely
Posted by: | CommentsRecently, I wrote that I do not watch news because news are depressing then Kostya replied me by saying that in fact bad news is good news. Well, now it appears that news regardless of good or bad are fake. Apparently, a new Ben Laden video was realized it was a fake one completely fake.
On his blog George Maschke wrote :
Osama Bin Laden’s widely publicized video address to the American people has a peculiarity that casts serious doubt on its authenticity: the video freezes at about 1 minute and 36 58 seconds, and motion only resumes again at 12:30. The video then freezes again at 14:02 remains frozen until the end. All references to current events, such as the 62nd anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing of Japan, and Sarkozy and Brown being the leaders of France and the UK, respectively, occur when the video is frozen! The words spoken when the video is in motion contain no references to contemporary events and could have been (and likely were) made before the U.S. invasion of Iraq.
The audio track does appear to be in the voice of a single speaker. What I suspect was done is that an older, unreleased video was dubbed over for this release, with the video frozen when the audio track departed from that of the original video.
There is also problem with his beard in this video his beard is black in the 2004 video his beard was gray now it is black. (heheh thats the problem when you use 1999 footages)
hahaha, this is getting really ridiculous, now, I don’t know if I have to laugh or cry. Because, newspapers are talking about that crap like it is something serious. Are newspapers serious , I guess not.
Music for concentration
Posted by: | CommentsA large number of studies have been made about the relation between the effect of music on the human brain in an article about the biology of music William J Crommie wrote :
Some brain circuits respond specifically to music; but, as you would expect, parts of these circuits participate in other forms of sound processing. For example, the region of the brain dedicated to perfect pitch is also involved in speech perception.
Music and other sounds entering the ears go to the auditory cortex, assemblages of cells just above both ears. The right side of the cortex is crucial for perceiving pitch as well as certain aspects of melody, harmony, timbre, and rhythm. (All the people tested were right-handed, so brain preferences may differ in lefties.)
The left side of the brain in most people excels at processing rapid changes in frequency and intensity, both in music and words. Such rapid changes occur when someone plucks a violin string versus running a bow across it.
Both left and right sides are necessary for complete perception of rhythm. For example, both hemispheres need to be working to tell the difference between three-quarter and four-quarter time.
The front part of your brain (frontal cortex), where working memories are stored, also plays a role in rhythm and melody perception.
Scientists concerned about BCI video games
Posted by: | CommentsI previously posted about Emotiv and Neurosky these companies develop video games that use BCI (Brain Computer Interface) basically you directly control your actions in the video game from your brain without using some kind of joystick .
Some problems sufarced with such technologies in some cases the game force the user to slow down his brainwaves this leave the user lacking concentration and feeling fatigue, if a game user takes a car after such a game or operate a dangerous machine then he might face some severe trouble.
Some scientists are concerned about that. BCIs are great for gamers with disabilities, but may not be so good for the general public, says Michelle Hinn, chair of the International Game Developers Association’s Game Accessibility Special Interest Group. Hinn adds “I can’t say that this (BCI-based games) won’t cause attention deficits, because that’s a very real possibility and a very real concern,”
For some strange reasons BCI games companies Emotiv and Neurosky claim that their games aren’t neurofeedback , however, their game do affect brain-waves pattern therefore it is neurofeedback (A method to train brainwaves pattern activity)
I’m curious where all of that will lead us you can read more about this story in a Wired article.

Open-Focus Brain
Posted by: | CommentsOpen Focus Brain is a new book by clinician and researcher in biofeedback, Fehmi. Fehmi draws on his experience with neurofeedback (brain-wave biofeedback) to explain how we can shift our brain waves to attain open focus. Open focus ?
I just read a full review of the book at OpEdNews. Open focus is a method to improve attention. The Amazon page says
“Dr. Les Fehmi, a clinical psychologist and researcher, many of us have become stuck in “narrow-focus attention”: a tense, constricted, survival mode of attention that holds us in a state of chronic stress—and which lies at the root of common ailments including anxiety, depression, ADD, stress-related migraines, and more. To improve these conditions, Dr. Fehmi explains that we must learn to return to a relaxed, diffuse, and creative form of attention, which he calls “Open Focus.”

Video 3 : Emotional Issues I
This video continues the teaching of EFT
applied to emotional issues, it is filmed at a seminar. The first case is a guy talking about his very shaming, critical father, the image he has of himself has been affected by all the negativity he received from his father over the years. He is very self-critical and feel very bad about it, basically, he treats himself the way his father was treating him. He was able to use EFT to reduce all the negativity he feels about himself , however, he still have some for example he has anger toward his wife who left him. We see him tap on this issue. He has many aspects to his issue he has to find them and tap on them.
5 tapping rounds are necessary to remove just one aspect of the anger he has toward his wife.
He follows tapping on a second aspect of his anger, we clearly see him feeling better. Read More→
