The president we deserve

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

During the last few years a lot of complains have been made against president George W. Bush that he was dumb , uneducated and only interested in war, money and oil.

However, what people are interested in ? Consider the underground blockbuster The Secret , The Secret introduces the law of attraction that like attracts like. In The Secret we are told that we can use the law of attraction to attract money, relationship , health, a house , a car into our lives.

They are no mention of using the same law to attract compassion, more understanding between nations, peace , joy , more justice.

Who are featured in The Secret , well, there is Joe Vitale a regular guy just like the rest of us, who a few year ago wrote a book called Spiritual Marketing where he explained how he used the law of attraction to get a BMW car that’s great but see it wasn’t Joe Vitale trying to use the law of attraction to improve education of low income people or anything brave.

Bill Harris is also featured in the The Secret he is the man behind the overpriced Centerpoint Holosync (a brainwave technology, you can get better than Holosync for 15 times less).

So the regular folks featured in The Secret are mostly interested in material things such as car, money , so why complain about George W. Bush he is finally no different than the regular folks. He want money , prestige the difference with him is the scale.

Now, we don’t have The Secret explaining us how to use the law of attraction to create meaningful things such as peace, understanding and compassion.

If regulars folks are mostly interested in cars, money and things like this they are more likely to attract a president that reflect these values. I’m not condemning these values however in this case, I tend to think that it is pointless to blame Bush. Now, I believe there is also hope because I heard in several occasions that The Secret should be used to attract more peace into the world instead of fancy cars.

Out-of-body experience recreated in lab

out of body experience
Scientists as you know are obsessed with control, if they can’t reproduce something it is not safe, sure or valid.
Well, it was one of their main problem when they studied the phenomena referred as ‘Out-Of-Body Experience’.

Now, two teams have succeed to recreate a kind of out of body experience, I’m not sure if this something in the line of Robert Monroe type of experiences.

They used virtual reality goggles to recreate a type of remote perception that seem to be Out of body for me what they have done is more remote perception rather than genuine out of body experience. (more…)

Accepting Responsibility

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

I briefly scanned the last post by Steve Pavlina called ‘A Better Life’, he made some good points about the present being our point of power, this is something I often forget for myself. I was facing such dilemma I have a website that I try to improve the revenue and I had to buy two programs to make the improvement one of the program isn’t really necessary but it can make the site so much better and valuable, I had the following train of thoughts :

  • I don’t afford such a software (Experiencing subjective financial limitation in the present)
  • May be my idea will not work out (Projecting subjective financial limitation in the future)
  • May be, it is best I wait one or two months so I will have more money to invest (Accepting subjective financial limitation in the present which build foundation to keep it in the future)

Stress relief with Acupressure

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

I don’t understand why in the Western world acupressure is sold as an anti-aging method instead of an anti-stress, I think that premature aging can also have stress as a factor therefore it is best to focus on the stress and it causes.
Anyway, I have this book called Timeless Face by Ellae Elinwood and of course it is sold as an anti-aging book but acupressure trust me is a great way to relief stress of working long hours on a computer.

A study demonstrated that acupressure decrease stress and anxiety. According to Chinese medicine the acupoints on the face are located on the forehead (affect mental clarity , improve blood circulation), between eyebrow (puts joy on the face), right under the eyes (relief for the eyes), cheeks ( clear emotions on the face), the tip of the nose (energize the face), chin and jowl ( help with confidence), arount the mouth (help with openness)

Gently massaging those acupoints with two fingers can help to relief stress and fatigue of working with computer during long hours combined with alternate nostril breath, you have a great package for the tip of the nose gently tap on it with one finger.

Below is a video about Acupressure:

Freenoting

Monday, August 20th, 2007

In a 500 pages about computer programming not all information are relevants , I remember when I was at a day job as programmer I often had to absord such big books to make it painlessly I used two methodsPhotoreading and Freenoting, taking free notes is really a method to write between the lines and only keep the relevant information eventually you will be able to go fish for more based on your notes , freenoters usually have better memory retention of what they learn.

Freenoting is an excellent method to help you to absorb knowledge from technical materials, medicine, psychology, computer, laws all these fields can be used with freenoting.

There is a small of overview of the method at Helium.com
The project Renaissance webpage has also interesting information about freenoting.
