4 essential tools for mind expansion
ByThere are tools I consider must have to explore “altered” states of consciousness. They make things easy and bring quick results. Obviously if you have a lot of years and time ahead of you, you could just go without any tools but here I will assume that you want to experience some results in a reasonable timeframe.
Binaural Beats
The first and probably the most important tool is a quality brainwave entrainment CD or Mp3. There are a large selection of products to choose from, if you are a complete beginner I will go for the Mindtek Ultra Meditation (99 dollars 5 CDs), Brain Sync Deep Meditation (14.95 dollars) or Immrama Insight CD (34,95 dollars), more experienced folks will find their joy with Brain Sync Deep Insight (14,95 dollars), Dick Sutphen the Zapper (9,95 dollars) or some of the Hemi-Sync CDs.
Quality headphones
To get the best out of your binaural beat CD a quality per of headphone is highly recommend, I use top of the line Sennheiser HD 590 (now replaced by HD 595 sold for 169 dollars), sound quality is top notch however it is an open-aire headphone meaning that if there is noise in your room you are likely to her it, it doesn’t completely offer isolation.
If you wish complete isolation from outside noise go have a look at Sennheiser PXC 450 (449 dollars ) or Koss QZ-5
(not sure about the quality of this one sound like an entry level product).
Eyes mask
Sound like a fancy useless gadget but no, it is a very useful. Our eyes have the same cells has our pineal gland, when our retina receive light, the gland produces a neurotransmitter called Serotonin, it keeps us awake, when we receive less light in our retina our pineal gland produces a neurotransmitter called Melatonin it put the body asleep. Using an eye mask can help the process of producing Melatonin especially if you have long session
Memory foam mattress
This one will be very good if you have trouble to relax your body, you don’t need to buy a full mattress, at the shop near my house, they sell just a piece of memory foam that you can put on your bed, it cost a lot cheaper that a mattress and the effect is the same, great body relaxation.
