DVD Realise your inner potential
ByI enjoyed the book Realise your inner potential by George King and Richard Lawrence that I bought the DVD. It is a beautiful disc well made running time is 1 h 25 approximately.
The DVD shows most of the exercises from the book as they should be performed , this is especially important for the breathing techniques a lot of people have difficulty with that, with that DVD no ambiguity will be left.
Realise your inner potential DVD is based on the teaching of the late George King 1919-1997. He was a Master yogi and therefore this is yoga based teaching we get here, yoga is a 8 steps approach however in western countries there is an over-emphasis on Asanas (yoga postures) and a neglecting of the other steps. The eight steps are:
- Yamas – abstention : living in non-violence controlling own energy.
- Niyamas – Observances : self-regulation to seek purity
- Asanas – steady poses
- Pranayama – control of life force
- Pratyahara - retractions of the senses
- Dharana – concentration of the mind
- Dhyana – Meditation
- Samadhi – super conscious state
The DVD is about Dharana, Dhyana and Pranayama.
It is divived in 7 chapters called “class”
Class 1 – Pranayama
This one is worth the DVD alone as it explains and show how to properly do all the breathing exercises from the book and they are numerous from the whole breath to the alternate nostril breath to more complex breathing exercises.

Class 2 – Mystic visualisation
In this section divided in three sub-chapter, you will learn about techniques to charge yourself with energy, the first exercise is very interesting and I plan to integrate it my routine , it is an aura cleansing exercise.

Class 3 – Concentration
This section is packed with advices for best concentration practice, the exercise of tratak (fixed gazing) is also explained.

Class 4 – contemplation
I like the distinction being made between concentration and contemplation, according to George King :
Concentration is the result of directed thought. Wherever and whenever thought is directed down a certain channel – good or bad – that attitude of mind is then termed as concentration.
Contemplation is something slightly different. It is a state of mind where, number one, the thought is controlled; but number two, the thought is left open to receive. If you were to contemplate on a flatfish you would examine the fish very thoroughly, even count the fins, scales and so on.
If you were to contemplate on the same fish you would leave your mind open to learn something about its environment, its physical function, its mental function and so on.
The section teach about contemplation.
Class 5 – Dynamic prayer
People who are interested in reiki, sending healing energy or even sending out love will appreciate this section. Often people ask me that one, how to send love or light…Here you will learn it in such an easy and clear manner.

They are five exercises in this section some are about sacred prayer however to me the distant healing exercise is the most important.
Class 6 – Mantra Yoga
Mantra yoga is one of the reason I bought the DVD, it is in my opinion very difficult to learn mantras (sacred sounds) from books , how do you pronounce ?
OM RAMA HUM OM RAMA RE
This section introduces several mantras and their proper pronunciation.
Class 7 – Kundalini ![]()
This section deals with advanced material about Kundalini, I will not recommend to use the exercises in this section unless you are ready and have long and quality complimentary information about the subject.
This section contains six breathing exercises to activate the kundalini power.
I like the DVD, I bought it for the mantras and some of the breathing exercises, well spend money to me, paid 16 pound from Amazon UK.
