Repressing emotions

We do a lot of things to either suppress or repress emotions, however repressing emotions only bring temporary relief to a deep seeded problem, our emotional wounds.

When I did a 24 hours fast I was able to see some of the things I do to repress emotions or suppress them, this included ‘eating from emotional levels’, ‘wasting time listening too much music during too much time’, ‘too much television’. I was completely able to get rid of those things I did to repress my emotions I now left alone with the feelings and I have a chance to heal the emotional wounds.


Addictions and compulsory behaviors are the things we do to hide the emotional wounds. I came across a powerful method to work on and heal emotional wounds, it is called Sensate Focusing (or focusing on emotions)

You are an observer, as an observer you create the things you observe. You create your own reality. The Universe and the reality are made of the same energy, which I call emptiness in the post.

All experiences require an explicate view of separation and contrasts. As soon as the contrasts are seen as local condensations in the quantum field, (created reality), the structure or distinction between energy, space, mass, and time de-contructs, goes back to its deconstructed substance, emptiness in another words (Wolinsky,93)

You can only have an experience if there is a contrast, like ‘I love myself’ contrasted with ‘I hate myself’. If there is no contrast then there is no separation, hence , no experience.

The Sensate Focusing Method

According to his author this method will allow to influence one’s emotional climate and to deal with each sensation which comes to one’s attention. By investing a small part of your mental resources in focusing on the plethora of sensations occurring in daily life, with the added consideration of topics worth focusing on - you
will be able to achieve nearly everything.
