Jalaneti - Nasal cleansing
Neti cleansing or Jalaneti is a very effective technique to cleanses the nose , nasal passages and cavities. If you practise daily it will help to counteract the effect of allergies, sinus congestion, dust, pollution.
Jalaneti is easy to practise, you will need a Neti pot either a ceramic neti water jug or a brass Neti jug (which are more hygienic) . The Neti pot must be big enough to contain at least 425 ml (15 oz.) to perfom the Neti cleansing you have to tip your head to the left and hold your breath. Use your Neti pot to pour the water into the right nostril and out of the left. Blow the nose and repeat on the other side. The pot must filled with lukewarm water and sea salt (some vendors sold a special solution for people having sinus problem)
Don’t be afraid if it looks a bit disgusting, it is not dirty it will feel like the same, when you go swimming and have water entering your nose. Do it slowly if you proceed to rapidly you can end up with a headache, but nothing more than that, it is not an harmful practice.
Note: there are some Neti pot in plastic avoid them for hygienic reason.

I experimented with Jala Neti and it was good to cleanse my nose , however it is recommend to practise daily (I didn’t) especially if you suffer from asthma and allergies.
According to the Harvard Medical School, study shows that nasal cleansing can aid in various chronic and acute conditions including allergic rhinitis and acute sinusitis. There is some evidence to support other benefits as well.
