Smarter with Mozart

There is no doubt that Mozart was a pure genius. I’m not going to rehearse all the information about him that you can find freely all over the Internet.
Here, I will write about a study that followed the one that demonstrated short-term
IQ gain, see yesterday post.

It was a 5 days test with 3 different groups of students.
16 abstracts figures were projected to each groups of students. The exercise was to test the ability of students to predict the unfolded shape. Each group had different
background music environment, one was with Mozart’s sonatas, the other with silence
and the last group with mixed sound (Philip Glass and dance music).

The group listening to Mozart scored higher with a gain of 62 %
The group with silence scored 14% and the group with mixed sounds 11%.

Investing in Mozart CDs is a cheap and probably good investment.
